Globalization has facilitated unprecedented levels of interaction between cultures, leading to a dynamic blend of traditions and practices. Flamenco itself is a product of cultural fusion, having evolved from the interactions of various ethnic and cultural groups over centuries. In this blog by Where To See Flamenco we explore a fascinating example of cultural intermingling.

As a society, we often seek inspiration from the festivals and celebrations around us. One such festival is Uttarayan, the festival of 🪁🪁which has deep roots in Indian culture. Uttarayan is more than just a celebration of the 🌞 highest point in the sky, it is also a metaphor for life itself. As we stand on the rooftops, kites soaring high in the sky, we are reminded of the ⬆️ and ⬇️ of life. Much like a kite dances in the wind, we too sway with the breezes of life - sometimes rising, sometimes falling, but always striving to climb higher. The thread of the kite, like the bonds we share with our loved ones, keeps us grounded and connected, no matter how high we fly.Uttarayan is a spectacle of chaos and beauty, much like life itself. Kites of all shapes, sizes, and colors fill the sky, symbolizing the diversity and vibrancy of our existence. The competition of kite flying, with its thrill and excitement, mirrors the challenges we face in life. And when a kite is cut loose, it teaches us the most valuable lesson of all - the art of letting go. It shows us that sometimes, we need to release the strings that hold us back to truly be free.As we celebrate Uttarayan, let us remember - 𝑾𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒍𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒌𝒊𝒕𝒆, 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆. And just like a kite, we too need to dance in the wind, embrace the ups and downs, and learn to let go when we need to. By doing so, we can truly live life to the fullest.Thoughts?

Day 27Festivals-Family Time or Long Weekends!!In the land of diverse culture, India, festivity is just a part of life. Not a month goes by without one or the other festive fun.Amidst work festivals, religious rituals not only offer us a break from the daily monotony but also helps us revisit the cultural grandeur of this beautiful country. These days festivals have become reasons for folks to travel. Travel back to hometown for some and for some vacation with self, family or friends.Especially, when a festival falls somewhere close to Weekend, it just becomes the much loved and highly appreciated and forever in demand,”Long Weekend”.I recommend using this time to be with family and friends, revisit some old memories, make some new ones. Cover up for lost time with family. Get together for some group activities and if there is no scope for such things then just enjoy a great meal on the day of the festival.A break from work is always healthy and re-energises self. You bounce back with high spirits and in certain cases, fresh ideas and new stories which just adds beauty to your work.Traveling is an icing on the cake. Relaxing or adventurous, whatever your calling just live upto it. Explore, Enjoy and Retreat with a heavenly smile. Festivals, celebrating heritage or travel for fun!#festivals #culture #heritage #longweekend #break #betterfocus

Q&A with our CEO: Mr. Kang Dea-hoon from Walkinto Korea!Episode: #4 Q: Now, the tourism industry is stretching out as COVID-19 quarantine has eased significantly. Therefore, are local governments in Korea also enthusiastic about festivals and events?A: Korea’s urban festivals are in an era of excess. Few people fully remember the numerous similar festivals held by 226 local governments across the country. However, among them, the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, Muju Firefly Festival, Jinju Namgang Lantern Festival, and Goyang Flower Expo are considered successful festivals. This is because certain concepts are incorporated into the festival and continuously integrated into the local brand.Another successful festival is the Boryeong Mud Festival held in Boryeong City. This festival is an important catalyst that attracts 9 million tourists annually to the West Sea Boryeong Belt. The reason for the success of this festival was attracting foreigners. Like the La Tomatina Festival held in Buñol, Valencia, Spain, where people seem to go crazy throwing tomatoes, foreigners and young people enjoying summer with their bodies covered in mud immediately caught the attention of the world media. If it catches the attention of the media and netizens, it goes viral and explodes on social media, for instance on the Instagram platform. Therefore, local festivals must properly capture the theme of local uniqueness and strengthen their strategies. Festivals should contribute to citizens’ lifestyles, local economy, youth entrepreneurship, and city brands. In addition, local festivals should be led by residents and commercial districts, not government agencies, and we need to think about how to differentiate ourselves while looking at the entire global village.I recently participated in an event called OO International Expo. Although it was called International, it was actually a quiet local festival with no overseas promotion, global marketing, or any participation of foreigners. Therefore, local governments and organizing committees must make plans for global marketing, and the more local they are, the more they must use a global absorption strategy that attracts foreigners.#Tourism #Marketing #Walkintokorea

The Qingming FestivalThe Qingming Festival, also Tomb Sweeping Day, falls between April 4th and 6th every year and is a festival for ancestor worship. The Qingming Festival originated from the ancestral beliefs and spring festival customs of ancient times. It is both a natural solar term and a traditional festival. Qingming Festival, together with the Spring Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, is known as China's four traditional festivals.Influenced by Han Chinese culture, ethnic minorities in China also have the customs of Qingming Festival. Although the customs vary in different regions, the basic themes of Qingming Festival are tomb sweeping, ancestor worship, and outings. In addition, there are many outdoor recreational activities such as tree planting, kite flying, tug-of-war, as well as customs such as eating sweet green rice ball. In addition to China, there are also some countries and regions in the world that celebrate Qingming Festival, such as Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.A little poem for you: 清 明 唐朝 · 杜牧 清明时节雨纷纷,路上行人欲断魂。 借问酒家何处有?牧童遥指杏花村。English version:It drizzles endless during the rainy season in spring,Travelers along the road look gloomy and miserable. When I ask a shepherd boy where I can find a tavern,He points at a distant hamlet nestling amidst apricot blossoms.
