Equally; he doesn't have to go out of his way to wax lyrical about them as much as he has........... Most managers don't... And he's already proved he's perfectly happy to mug the media off if he doesn't feel like indulging them.

I like you and feel you bring a lot to this forum

But if you can’t see what the constant is in these 25 years I’m not sure I can show you any more

How many more managers need to be the f*cking scapegoat

We’ve tried them all, long term, short term, small names, big names, what is the f*cking constant

It’s ENIC

Extremely frustrating result.

More points wasted and gifted to an opponent.

As much i'd like to say otherwise, it will negatively affect me over the coming days.

Sadly i know i'm not alone.

Back on topic..... What tangible evidence do you have that Levy picked all these players?

It’s not that he picked them it’s that he chose the cheaper option, every single time, since he’s been here. It’s written in fact for all to see

And it’s not just Levy it’s uncle Joe

And we finally have a manager that wants to change the ethos and dynamic of the club and play the football we want to play, and everyone is f*cking blaming him instead of the constant

Anyway I’m not getting into it as it’s been repeated so many times I’m even boring myself

The biggest positive for me was the high press. We won possession back in their half a lot.

But we’re still attacking too slow. The passing needs to be quicker and more decisive. We’re making it way too easy for the opposition defending.

Was terrified when Johnson came in for Sarr. Thought we were going to get torn apart but actually still maintained control of the match.

I’d like to think getting Solanke back fixes things but still way too many players out of form. Need more from Maddison, Son and Kulu.

BJ - 50m
Solanke 65m
VDV - 40m
Maddison - 40m
Gray - 40m

......The more expensive, definite first choice alternatives were?

Literally got people complaining we didn't sign a clapped out Chiesa for 15m.

Then the evidencing the above should be a mere formality........

They’re the standard rates for players nowadays

So explain to me why we haven’t won a bean in 25 years?

What is the constant in that time period?

I didn't say they we paid above their market value.... I asked who the more expensive, definite first choice alternatives were.

The game reminded me of when under Nuno or Conte we sat deep and beat Man City on the counter. Newcastle looked worse than we did vs City, constantly turning over the ball, but defended well. That being said at this level even the worst teams score when you set up so high, and Newcastle are a good side.

A lot happened after the free kick before they scored. Maddison should have stopped the cross for starters.

Maddison is disappointing. We have so much possession and he is not creating anything.

Newcastle away is a match where you really need a genuine 9 and your fastest cover defender, so starting without either, we were going to struggle. Plenty of the pre-match comments on this thread said as much, that we would struggle without Micky and Solanke, and would be lucky to get a point.

Howe sets up to counter Ange-ball as well as anybody. Actually Bayern pre-season did it very well too. We really struggled to play through the man-on-man press at St James’ Park last season and also against Bayern. So it was important for us to address that and I thought we did it very well this time.

Our periods of dominance are looking more convincing than the back half of last season, although still struggling for end product.

Defensive set pieces, while not yet solid, looking better than last season. Attacking set pieces look to have more variations now. We've obviously been working on both.

Great game from Dragusin, probably running out of steam late in the game which hurt us, but the only way to get match fit is match time.

Romero is a great player and Ange holds him in high regard. But he doesn't look like he's properly switched on yet this season. I hope Ange can find the right way to switch him back on, whether that be a good bollocking, arm around the shoulder or time on the bench.

Entertaining game, disappointing result; probably deserved a point but didn't get it. But definite improvements in terms of both process and scoreline relative to same fixture in April.

Frustrating result given we deserved to win by a fair margin.

positives
- our ball recovery in their half was excellent
- i loved that we took a few shots from outside the box which is a vast improvement on last year where we tried to run the ball into the net each time. We’ve got to do that more so our attacks are more varied.
- Kulu had a great game, especially in the second half in the midfield. We absolutely controlled the second half
- Dragusin looked top notch. What a great quality rotational player
- outside the goals it felt like Newcastle rarely threatened
- we dealt with their set pieces admirably

negatives
- Son is a LW with an eye for goal, not a CF
- Bergvall didn’t play with flair. I hope Vicario shouting at him the other week hasn’t put him back in his shell
- lapses of concentration In defence. I think Romero is culpable for their second goal due to ball watching
- Vicario distribution looks a bit dodgy at times
- xG is officially pointless in my estimation. This game showed it. It doesn’t take into account chances created
- this is the second game that Odobert has had a quality chance and fluffed his lines. His miss of an open goal was very Werner-esque. I hope he gets better

Now we know how City felt all those times they peppered us all game but we nicked it on the counter. I do think on another day we would’ve scored 4. The positives are that we’ve dominated every game so far and we haven’t even clicked yet. Missed Solanke today, he would’ve been on the end of each of Johnson’s crosses. I’m sure we’ll play games this season where we play badly but end up winning. Now batter Woolwich please.

You’re in no position to talk about understanding football lol.

You seem to berate people because they speak their The truth.

We have a sh*tty Football Team when compared to the likes of Brighton, Villa, Woolwich, Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Newcastle, yet we one of the highest earning teams in the World.

We bought a whole lot of Youngsters that don't know how to take control of a game because of their resale potential. If you doubt that, watch Woolwich vs Brighton and Spurs vs Newcastle.

I cannot understand people like Yourself who are happy with, "We'll fight for Fourth Place so we can 'Win' Champions League Entry" and "Ange will get The Best Out of The Youngsters". Continue Bullsh*tting Yourself, at some point you'll come around. It's usually the time people stop Cursing Fellow Supporters and Start Cursing The Chairman.

For Now, A sentence that may serve you well in the future, "LEVY AND ENIC OUT".

Genuine question, would people rather dominate games the way we have this season but just lack that final edge right now

Or ride our luck in games and just about sneak results early on?

What one do you think sets us up better for the rest of the season?

The second one describes Conte and Jose. Which everyone hated.

Maddison is disappointing because he cannot play Ange Ball. At Leicester, he controlled an open Midfield. He didn't continuously have to play short little passes to team mates hanging 5m from him. He needs the luxury of a bit more time afforded to him when playing an open system. It's a similar problem to Hojberg.

Ange makes it easy for Low Block teams to defend against us because there are always 5 or 6 players (Including our LB and RBs) in the middle of the park when we attack. He has no variation. Teams can have Maddison pinned down without any effort. Put Maddison in a team like Woolwich and you'll see the difference.
